30 June 2021 | Energy

The Spanish Association for Energy Economics (AEEE) has held its 16th Annual Congress on 29-30 June 2021 under the theme "New energy policies and green recovery". The analysis of new energy policies, as well as a new economic and technological framework to achieve the international commitment on green recovery, will be the main objective of this new edition that will be held extraordinarily in virtual format.

The Congress has been inaugurated by Kepa Solaun, president of the Association and CEO of Factor, together with Joan Groizard, General Director of the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE). During the two days, several academic reports will be presented on different topics such as the regulation of the electricity market, auctions, the promotion of renewable energies and the impact of climate change.

The event has been attended by speakers of international relevance such as Michael Pollitt, professor at the Judge Business School of the University of Cambridge, or Mar Reguant, PhD from MIT, currently at Northwestern University and advisor to the government of French President Emmanuel Macron. These talks have been sponsored by the Generalitat Valenciana-Universitat Jaume I through the Chair of New Green Transition and the Chair for the Transformation of the Economic Model.

The AEEE is the Spanish division of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) and, among its activities, promotes the organisation of an annual congress on Energy Economics. Taking into account the importance of the involvement of the different social agents in the transformation of the energy model, the congress aims to strengthen the links between universities, companies, regulators, the national government and the different regional governments.
