Factor supported the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS, for its acronym in Spanish) of the Government of Peru and the Mivivienda Fund (FMV,) in the implementation of the Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) for Sustainable Construction with a City Vision - Housing Sector, through the development and implementation of a monitoring, reporting and verification system (MRV). The objective of this NAMA is to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) generated by the consumption of energy and water in homes through the application of the Technical Code for Sustainable Building and the Sustainable Housing Grant.

The MRV system allows the monitoring of GHG emission reductions resulting from the application of energy and water efficiency criteria in the design and development of new housing projects and in the retrofitting of existing ones. The MRV system also includes within its scope other economic, social and environmental co-benefits, as well as the support in the form of financing, technology transfer and capacity building received by the NAMA.

The project was carried out for the GIZ-German Cooperation, which promotes, through the project Financial Mechanisms for Low Carbon Development (FinanCC Peru), the strengthening of institutional capacities to integrate aspects of mitigation of climate change into public and private financial instruments and for its proper application.
