Nowadays, stakeholders' awareness of the problems and effects of climate change on society has increased, which is why having an accreditation that confirms Grupo SADA's commitment to reduce the company's carbon footprint is a differentiating factor for the company.
In words of Enrique Velasco, CEO of Grupo SADA: "The calculation of the Carbon Footprint will allow us to identify the amount of greenhouse gas emissions that we emit into the atmosphere, which will represent an opportunity for the company to improve. Until now we have had the carbon footprint calculation in Scope 1 and Scope 2 and now, we have decided to increase our climate ambitions, calculating the Scope 3 footprint, which includes all the indirect emissions we produce in our value chain".
To this end, Grupo SADA will work with "Factor Ideas for change", which will be the firm that will carry out the consultancy activities for the calculation of the group's Scope 3 Carbon Footprint, will review and validate the Scope 1 and Scope 2 calculations that they currently have, and will develop an innovative tool for calculating the Carbon Footprint.
Through these new actions in calculating its carbon footprint, the SADA Group intends to join the register of the Spanish Climate Change Office (OECC) and thereby consolidate its commitment with the reduction of its environmental impact, keeping on the path of sustainability and reinforcing its work in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN Agenda 2030 and the fight against climate change.
