Factor will work on the National Communication of Trinidad and Tobago
01 October 2019 | CO2
This week, Factor begins the “Mitigation analysis based on the Trinidad and Tobago emissions portfolio” project, supporting UNDP in order to allow Trinidad and Tobago to prepare and present its Third National Communication (TNC) and its first Report of Biennial Update (BUR) for the Conference of the Parties (COP) of the UNFCCC.
For this project, Factor will perform a mitigation analysis based on the Trinidad and Tobago emission portfolio and, in this way, validate the baseline that was developed for the three main emitting sectors; energy generation, transport and industry, within the Strategy for the reduction of carbon emissions in the Caribbean country.
Likewise, the related applicable technologies will be evaluated and the emission reduction of the identified mitigation option will be quantified as far as possible. In addition, a baseline “Business as Usual” (BAU) will be built for emissions in the waste, agriculture, forestry, land use and land use change sectors to the year 2040 and identify mitigation options as appropriate, in these sectors.
The Factor team represented by Kepa Solaun, Partner and Managing Director of Factor, and Florian Eickhold, Country Manager Germany of Factor, among other specialized consultants, will be responsible for carrying out this project.
Factor has 15 years of experience offering technical consulting services in the areas of adaptation and mitigation to climate change, climate finance, carbon footprint, sustainability, circular economy, among others, both for governments and international organizations, and for more than 400 Business.
