Factor joins the campaign #supporttheSDGs promoted by the Spanish Network of the Global Compact

- The aim of the campaign #wesupporttheSDGs is to act as a loudspeaker to achieve a multiplier effect and to make Agenda 2030 more known and workable.
- Corporate management based on the SDG creates new business opportunities, improves the relationship with stakeholders and promotes innovation.
To celebrate the 5th anniversary of the approval of Agenda 2030 with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Factor Ideas for change joins the campaign #wesupporttheSDGs to work on the diffusion of these UN Goals, in collaboration with the Spanish Network of the Global Compact, an initiative to which it belongs. The aim is to act, from its own commitment to the ODS, as a speaker and achieve a multiplier effect so that they get to know each other and work.
In 2012 Factor joined the UN Global Compact initiative, the world's largest sustainability initiative. Since the approval of Agenda 2030 in 2015, in addition to its commitment to promoting the Ten Principles, it has worked on aligning its corporate management with the SGD, where it finds new business opportunities, improves the relationship with its stakeholders and promotes innovation.
In this way, Factor has established a series of commitments and good practices in line with its strategy. Among these, the following stand out: objective number 13, to take urgent measures to combat climate change and its impacts; objective number 7, to guarantee access to affordable and clean energy; or number 11, to contribute to the sustainable transformation of cities and communities.
With this type of action, the Spanish Global Compact Network and its member organisations seek to contribute to Agenda 2030 and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals, a task which, in these times of crisis and uncertainty, is the formula for creating the sustainable future the world needs.
Encouraging companies to contribute on sustainable development
It has been five years since the United Nations General Assembly approved Agenda 2030 with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), unanimously by the 193 participating States, including Spain. "Leave no one behind" is the core of the agreement. The SDG propose to end poverty and hunger, reduce inequalities and address urgent challenges such as climate change.
To achieve such an ambitious agenda, the involvement of all was agreed: governments, business, civil society and citizens from all over the world. Its strength comes from the universal nature of the agreement and the ambition of its 169 goals. Achieving them requires an unprecedented effort from all sectors of society, and business has a very important role to play in this. Achieving the SDG requires a combination of public sector, business, investor and civil society efforts.
With ten years to go to achieve Agenda 2030 and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDAs), the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, has called on all sectors of society to mobilise during this " Decade of Action ".
The "Decade of Action" calls for accelerating sustainable solutions to the world's major challenges, from poverty and gender equality to climate change, inequality and closing the financial gap. Enterprises have a very important role to play in this regard.
