Factor CO2 launches the project Tending EACCEL Entities in the Calculation of their Carbon Footprint in Zaragoza

20 December 2016 | CO2

Yesterday, December 19 in Zaragoza, the launching of the project "Tending EACCEL Entities in the calculation of their carbon footprint” by Factor CO2, was held.

The Aragonese Strategy for Climate Change and Clean Energies (EACCEL) is a proposal of the Government of Aragon that addresses the general references that place climate change in the specific context of Aragon. The EACCEL is conceived as a dynamic process, in the measure that companies and entities have been adhering to it through its own Action Plans. At this moment, the General Directorate of Sustainability considers that, in a voluntary framework, the commitment of the entities affiliated to EACCEL, and of all those interested entities, should be extended to the calculation of the carbon footprint and reduction of it.

Asier Sopelana, partner and project manager of Factor CO2, together with Luis Galiana, Consultant of Factor CO2, had a participation in the event where they presented the benefits obtained by calculating the carbon footprint, as well as by being registered in the OECC Carbon Footprint, Compensation and Carbon Dioxide Absorption Projects Registry.

Within this intervention, Factor CO2 also presented the keys to how the project to accompany EACCEL entities in the calculation of their carbon footprint, paying particular attention to the methodology of working with the facilities.

The event had presentations by:

  • Joaquín Olona Blasco, Counselor for Rural Development and Sustainability of the Government of Aragon.
  • Marta Hernández de la Cruz, Technical Adviser at the General Sub directorate for Action Coordination on Climate Change of the Spanish Office for Climate Change (OECC).
  • Matilde Cabrera Millet, Climate Change and Environmental Education Service of the General Directorate of Sustainability.
  • Guadalupe Zárate Díez, Department of Rural Development and Sustainability of the Government of Aragon.

Factor CO2 is specialized in providing ideas and services addressing climate change since 2004, through an extensive international network of offices and partners group.
