COP25 climate change conference
08 November 2019 | Trading
The 2019 UN climate change conference (COP25) will be held from 2 to 13 December in Madrid (Spain), under the incoming Presidency of the Government of Chile. The EU and its Member States will take part as Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
Side events at EU Pavilion
Following the change of venue of the conference, we are exploring different options for the programme initially planned for the EU Pavilion.
Nevertheless, we are re-opening the submission form in order to speed up the process of communicating updated event details, in light of a potential confirmation for an EU Pavilion in Madrid.
As a reminder, the EU Pavilion, if confirmed, intends to host a broad set of side events to stimulate debate on key thematic areas by engaging observers and facilitating dialogue with party delegates and other participants.
We expect to still have 2 rooms, allowing us to respect the original date and time allocations, but we reserve the right to make modifications depending on the logistical constraints we may face.
At this stage, no new applications are accepted.
We invite organisers of selected side events at the EU Pavilion who have not yet submitted their updated event details to re-submit using the form below. Please refer to your previously received application numbers. You will receive a new reference number to be used in further correspondence.
For organisers who already submitted final information, please simply send us an email (CLIMA-EU-SIDE-EVENTS@ec.europa.eu) confirming your availability for hosting the event in Madrid or your cancellation.
Be aware that all submitted information will become publicly available on this website in the coming weeks.
The deadline for this new submission / confirmation of availability is Tuesday 12 November. Failure to meet this deadline will result in the cancellation of your event.
The accreditation procedure for side event organisers and speakers is the same as for Santiago. If you already registered, you do not need to do anything more. If you did not, please hurry up.
Information on catering (at the organisers’ own cost) will only become available at a later stage.
A final and official confirmation of the EU Pavilion will be published as soon as possible on this webpage. We advise event organisers and speakers to take all necessary precautions in their travel logistics and cancellation policies, as it is not fully guaranteed that there will be side events at the EU Pavilion.
